Heather Kuzmich Asperger's Model
Heather Kuzmich has been on television for the past 11 weeks on the reality show 'America's Next Top Model'. "So what?" you might ask. Well the difference between Heather Kuzmich and the other contestants is that she has the neurological disorder Asperger's syndrome. By being in the show Heather has allowed viewers a glimpse into the world of Asperger's and given publicity to the disorder. As Heather explained, "It was a point in my life where I was thinking either Asperger’s was going to define me or I was going to be able to work around it." Her success has hopefully brought about some understanding for Asperger's syndrome. Heather said, "My mom is beside herself. She watched me when I was a kid not have any friends, and she saw me struggle. She’s glad people are starting to understand this." Labels: Asperger's syndrome, Heather Kuzmich |
