Maria Elena Holly And Peggy Sue
The widow of 50's star Buddy Holly is trying to stop the publication of a book by a name made famous by one of his songs - Peggy Sue. Maria Elena Holly reckons that Peggy Sue Gerron's book will harm Buddy's reputation and also that of her company. Mrs. Holly says, "It's very interesting that this woman makes up all these stories. He never, never considered Peggy Sue a friend." Peggy Sue Gerron is releasing the book as 2008 is the fiftieth anniversary of the hit record Peggy Sue. Mrs Gerron said the book is extracted from her diaries at the time she knew Buddy, "We were very, very good friends. He was probably one of the best friends I ever had." Buddy Holly also had a hit with Peggy Sue Got Married. Buddy died in a plane crash, when he was only 22, on February 3, 1959, along with Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.
