Ellen DeGereres To Marry Portia de Rossi
 Following a ruling in California's Supreme Court regarding same sex 'marriages' Ellen DeGeneres is to wed her partner Australian Portia de Rossi.Ellen announced the news as her show was being taped on Thursday: "I can’t wait to get married. We all deserve the same rights, and I believe that someday we’ll look back on this and not allowing gays to marry will seem as absurd as not allowing women to vote."The audience is said to have erupted into applause. Portia de Rossi was born January 31 1973 and is perhaps best known for her role as Nelle Porter on the Television series Ally McBeal and also for her part in Arrested Development. She was born in Melbourne as plain Amanda Lee Rogers but changed her name when she was just 15. When asked why she answered, "I think it was largely due to my struggle about being gay.
