Sharon Stone Earthquake Comments Upset Chinese
Sharon Stone has put her foot in it. She's upset the Chinese by talking about the recent horrific earthquake in their country. Sharon said, "I thought, 'Is that karma?' When you are not nice, bad things happen to you." The inference being that the recent disaster was linked to Beijing's policy on Tibet. It seems that Sharon was asked by the Tibetan Foundation to help earthquake victims. She went on to say: "It was a big lesson to me that sometimes you have to learn to put your head down and be of service even to people who aren't nice to you. There has been a strong reaction in China. The chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers described her comments as 'inappropriate.' The Beijing Times reports of how stores have removed ads for cosmetics and Christian Products that feature Sharon's image. Labels: Sharon Stone |
