Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi Joins Emmerdale As Leyla Harding
 Emmerdale  is all set to attract a few more male viewers as Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi joins the UK soap today as seamstress Leyla Harding.There's a mystery about the character as to why she has decided to settle in the Dales. No doubt time will tell. Meanwhile she makes an instant impact wrapping factory boss Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) around her little finger. The actress Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi is 25 and is known in the world of stage and theatre but not generally on television. She is British, of Persian origin, and has had theatre credits in plays such as East is East and Rafta Rafta. Rokhsaneh said in an ITV interview, "Everyone at Emmerdale has been so warm and welcoming. It’s such a well-established show and I can’t wait to see what Leyla gets up to."
