100 England Caps For David Beckham
David Beckham was applauded onto the pitch last night in France as he reached his milestone 100 Caps for England. David said: "The reception was amazing, from both sets of fans. You expect it from your own fans and I thank them for that. But also the French people as well, it was an amazing standing ovation. I'm very proud of that because if there was another place after Wembley I would like the game to be it was here. It's one of my favourite cities. It was a nice ovation."Unfortunately the result of this France v England friendly international soccer match didn't go exactly to plan. France won 1-0, but hopefully the new manager, Fabio Capello, will have learned a few things about his players - including Goldenballs. Only four other former England players have reached 100 Caps: Peter Shilton, Billy Wright, Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore. The question remains as to David's future with England but he said last night, "That wasn't goodbye. Definitely not. It was just a thank you." Wonder if Capello thinks the same.
