Amy Winehouse To Perform At Glastonbury
![]() First, this is Amy Winehouse in the early hours of this morning leaving her Camden home and heading for a hotel. Reports say that there was a small spot of blood on her vest and fresh cut marks on her arm plus sores on her hands. Photo: Will Alexander/WENN Secondly, however, the Glastonbury organisers have today confirmed that Amy will appear at this summer's Festival on the 18th of June. She is to appear before Kay-Z on the Pyramid stage. She is also set to headline Bestival on the Isle of Wight on September 6th plus, starting May 30th, a number of European Festivals. This is in spite of friend Mark Ronson claiming that Amy Winehouse isn't ready to work on music. Regarding this point Emily Eavis of the Glastonbury Festival, told Radio 1's Newsbeat, "I have total faith, I think she'll come and deliver. This is one of the biggest sets of the summer, supporting the most anticipated artist at Glastonbury in the past 38 years." She went on to add, "I don't know how much is hot air from the press and how much is reality but she is pretty reliable actually. It's her personal life and no-one really knows the extent of what she's up to and I don't think it should be public knowledge. We all know she's a brilliant performer and I think that's what we should be focusing on." Let's hope that Amy is fit and ready to perform and we wish her a good summer. | Amy Winehouse The U.S have rejected Amy Winehouse's visa application which means she will be unable to attend the Grammy Awards where she has six nominations. This must surely be the right decision for Amy. She's disappointed but paramount must be her health and other problems. You can't smoke crack one day and then be expected to be welcomed everywhere. Hopefully she'll recover and then go on to do great things worldwide. It is reported, however, that Amy might now appear via a satellite link to the Grammys. Glastonbury FestivalOrganiser of the UK's Glastonbury Festival, Emily Eavis, is thrilled that The Verve and Kings of Leon will be joining Jay-Z as headliners at the June event. Madonna 11 year old Lourdes accompanied her mother Madonna at a fundraising event at the UK in New York. About $5 million was raised for Unicef and Raising Malawi. Lindsay Lohan It seems Lindsay Lohan has been promoting herself for the lead role in Tim Burton's big screen Alice In Wonderland. She modestly said, "I hope they don't give it to an unknown. I'm ideal. I could really do it justice. I've been down the role." Paul McCartney & Ringo Starr The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has had tributes paid to him following his death, as we mentioned on Wednesday, from Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. Paul said: "He was a great man who worked tirelessly for the people of the world and the cause of unity. I will never forget the dedication that he wrote inside a book he once gave me, which read 'radiate, bliss, consciousness', and that to me says it all. I will miss him but will always think of him with a smile."Ringo added: "One of the wise men I met in my life was the Maharishi. I always was CherIn a television interview on Good Morning America Cher told of how she declined the advances of Elvis Presley because she was 'too terrified about spending the night with him.' Elvis seemingly expressed his feelings for her but she declined going to Las Vegas to be with him. Oh, and she also turned down Marlon Brando - which she regretted.
