George Sampson: Britain's Got Talent Winner
Well we didn't get that quite right! George Sampson, the 14 year old dancer, has just won Britain's Got Talent with his stunning version of an updated Singing In The Rain. George is 14 (15 on the 29th of June) and lives in Birchwood. He has built a good fan base on the Internet on forums, such as at ITV.com and on websites such as bebo. His fans were mobilised and did their job to make George a winner (and to pocket the £100,000 and Royal Variety performance). Well done to him and those that supported him, especially his mother. The likes of Faryl Smith will be disappointed but have a good future ahead of them. Simon Cowell will be visualising the cash tills already. This result is appalling and really underlines the mentality and age group of those that voted.
More disturbingly, how can an act that would grace the scum on the street corners of Moss Side win a so-called talent show?
I'm finished with the people of this country. We will NEVER end knife crime if the people of this land judge George Sampson as 'talent'.
Of course, George has a marketing value to immature women, not a national talent.
I didn't watch the show tonight as I would of put my mortgage on that George was gonna win - based on the female 'screamometer'.
George Sampson has NOTHING to do with knife crime, so get your head out of your ass and stop being so stupid. He has talent, that is why he won a talent show. His fans aren't only females, they're people who know what real talent is...not stuck up individuals who blame everyone for a minority of youngsters and their crimes. I watched the show last night and although I didn't vote for anyone, I believed, along with Simon Cowell that this boy has pure talent, even from last year's audition.
I am simply appalled by the above anonymous comment. George battled his way to the final by hard work and determination two qualities to be commended. he dances on the street to raise money for lessons which, I'm told by some one at the same dance school, he takes very seriously having to be asked to leave at the end of the day so they can lock up. He's been taking lessons since he was six in both singing, acting and dance. He is very slight for is age but has not followed the crowd but stuck to his dream. His winnings are going to pay back his mum and to help the others he dances with. All the above seem to me to be commendable characteristics that we should praise not vilify with phrases such as "scum on the streets".
Well done George you are a worthy winner and a true advert for all that is good about your age group and are a true Briton - I salute you and wish you all the best.
